In-process inspection governs "every unit," while the laboratory governs "design values and type verification." Laboratory equipment reflects a factory's technical depth — only with an independent laboratory that can produce reports can one claim to "make products per the standards framework."
I. Filtration efficiency test bench¶
[Industry Knowledge] Benches are divided by category:
- Air filter efficiency bench: per the ISO 5011 framework, inject standard dust and measure upstream/downstream concentration, outputting efficiency + dust holding capacity + differential pressure curves;
- Oil filter / fuel filter multi-pass bench: per the ISO 4548-12 / ISO 19438 framework, particle counters measure efficiency at each particle size (Beta ratio / absolute rating);
- Cabin filter efficiency bench: per the HEPA/ISO 16890 framework, measure particle interception rate.
Function: verify media selection and whether finished products meet the nominal efficiency tier.
II. Dust holding capacity / differential pressure test bench¶
[Industry Knowledge] Linked to the efficiency bench: continuously add dust to the terminal differential pressure and accumulate dust holding capacity; simultaneously record the differential-pressure growth curve versus dust loading. This is the core equipment for evaluating "anti-fouling / life."
III. Static burst tester¶
[Industry Knowledge] Apply hydraulic pressure until the housing / element ruptures, recording the burst pressure. Used to verify the housing drawing, end cap curing, and seam strength of spin-on oil / fuel filters. A destructive test.
IV. Bypass valve opening-pressure test bench¶
[Industry Knowledge] A dedicated bench slowly increases pressure and precisely records the differential pressure at the instant the bypass valve opens, verifying consistency with the calibrated value.
V. Leak-tightness / leak-detection equipment¶
[Industry Knowledge] Inline leak-detection benches (differential-pressure method / helium test / water test), used for 100% sealing inspection of spin-on filters and fuel filters.
VI. Material analysis equipment¶
[Industry Knowledge]
- Permeability tester / thickness gauge / stiffness tester: media physical properties;
- Shore hardness tester / tensile tester: seal ring hardness, adhesive/media strength;
- Salt-spray chamber: housing / metal-part anti-corrosion;
- High/low-temperature chamber: seal ring rebound, adhesive temperature-resistance verification.
VII. The meaning of the laboratory: from "measuring" to "certifying"¶
[Editorial Opinion] The real value of laboratory equipment is not "being able to measure," but "being able to produce traceable third-party-basis reports." The three things export buyers want most: efficiency–differential pressure–dust holding capacity curves, static burst reports, and bypass valve calibration records. With these three, the buyer's "technical trust" is grounded. When auditing a laboratory, look at what evidence it can output, not how many machines are lined up in the equipment cabinet.
